OK, so Where were we?
Oh, right, my wedding week.
So, the bridal party got into town Sunday night and we had the bach party on Monday. I'm calling it the "bach party" because is was both the bachelor and bachelorette party. The bridal party all stayed together in the Gentry House, which was in the perfect location a few blocks away from Bourbon Street.
It was a 1920's themed event, so we all dressed the part. I have to admit, the 1920s part was inspired by my obsession with The Princess and the Frog.
We did a mini photo shoot before heading out, of course. French Quarter buildings are just the most beautiful and photogenic.
And then the adventure began!
Our first stop was the Carousel Bar, located in the Hotel Monteleone. One of my favs! I'm not really a fan of Pimm's Cups, but I hear they make a great one.
When I ordered, the bartender handed me a note. It had beautiful handwriting and called upon me to identify one of my bridesmaids as the prominent female member of New Orleans history that was inhabiting their body. If I could correctly identify each one, I would free their spirits and discover the Mardi Gras queen. Here's an example of one of the notes:

These notes continued at each stop we made along the route. We stopped at a few more establishments, one for each bridesmaid, in fact.
All in all we stopped at the Carousel Bar, the Old Absinthe House, Pat O'brien's, Cat's Meow, and Oz. There are PLENTY more photos (and videos) but those are for me, my bridesmaids, and my husband to enjoy.
When we reached Oz, I was handed the final envelope. Upon correctly identifying the bridemaid with the historical figure, I was masked the Mardi Gras queen. It was me all along! It was so much fun and it was so special experiencing my favorite spots in New Orleans with some of my favorite people.
