Valentine's Day always makes me think of the pink elephants from Dumbo. You know why, right? Champagne, pink, etcetera, etcetera! Last year, I did a subtle Pink Elephants disneybound on Valentine's Day!

For this crafting session, I'm so exciting to be collaborating with the Sip Society! They sent me the most amazing collection of rosés, just in time for Valentine's Day! I took the opportunity to have a me party and make some Valentines! Like I said, PINK ELEPHANTS!! I happen to think vintage Valentines are the cutest, so I did a quick Google search and pulled up a bunch of vintage pink elephant Valentines!

I gathered a bunch of materials I had lying around- glitter, puffy paint, lace, ribbon, hot glue, Elmers glue, etc. Anything that might inspire creativity! But let's be real, you could even just print them on cardstock and cut them down to size and hand them to a loved one with a sweet message inside. The possibilities are really endless!

So here's how I created a couple of the Valentines shown above! All of these are printed on cardstock.

For this Valentine, I pulled out some lace scraps from a sewing project and a hot glue gun. I cut out the Valentine, making sure to leave part of the fold and a flat portion along the bottom to that it can fold and still stand up. Then I took the lace and hot glued it around the heart.

For this Valentine, I wanted to make a watercolor background for the pink elephant to stand in front of (I use this Christmas placemat from the 99 Cent Only Store whenever I hot glue or paint to protect my crafting surfaces). I can just imagine what sweet message I can write on it. I love writing on watercolored pages.

This is my favorite way to embellish a card. I print the card twice and then I decide which features I want to be "3D". For this card specifically, I cut out along the outline of the elephant (again, leaving part of the fold still attached so that it opens like a card). I cut out the features from the second card that I want to overlay on the first to make pop out. In this example, I wanted the flowers, the bow tie, and the heart in his trunk to pop out. To give it more dimension, I glued small little white paper scraps to the first card, and then glued the flowers, bow tie, and heart onto the white pieces. I added some puff paint to the letters too, just for funsies.

There's nothing you can't do with these! Get creative!

The Sip Society is a bi-monthly subscription service that delivers luxury sparkling wines right to your door. Bubbles are my FAVORITE, so the sip is a perfect fit! Signing up is free, and you get your choice of membership- bi-monthly or annually, you can even opt for a trial box before committing! Each box contains 3 mini bottles of champagne, some sipping tips that give you the low-down on what you're enjoying, and a special sip-related gift! This month's is a Sip flute! Super cute!
