I just found out yesterday about the Vintage Fashion Challenge and while I LOVE the idea, I don't know that I'll be participating every day of the challenge. But I am participating today! On purpose!
I'm Scottish on my father's side and Irish on my mother's. And goodness knows I love bounding in Vintage, so I bounced today as Jock, the lovable Scottish Terrier from Lady and the Tramp.
My two-piece red wool suit is from the American Way in Burbank and my cardigan is from my grandmother on my mother's side. She passed away last August, so not only is this plaid a nod to my Scottish roots, but the cardigan is a hug from my own familial roots.
But it doesn't stop there, oh no! Yes, Scotty Dog and Scottish heritage is a link, but it goes even deeper then that. Do you see the Scottish Terrier pin on my lapel? My grandmother on my father's side (the Scottish one) owned a Scottish Terrier growing up. My grandmother talks about her all the time and how much she loved her/how much of a terror she was.
So when you combine the Scottish Plaid with the hand-me down cardigan from grandma, and the Scottish Terrier connection, you have an outfit that epitomizes my heritage and roots. (Yes, I own a kilt and cape, but it's not THAT cold out, but I really wanted to bound as Jock, so this works out perfectly).

Are you participating in this challenge? Let me know below so I can follow along on your page!
