I've lived in Southern California my whole life (except for 8 months in Florida), and I've been a fan or horror since I was in high school. Yet, despite these facts, I didn't go to Halloween Horror Nights until last year! And wow! I'm hooked! The scarezones, the mazes, the fans, all of it comes together to create a perfect evening out!
So when a friend told me about the Fan Preview this year, we didn't hesitate! Upon entering, you are greeted by scareactors. Oh course you have the familiar chainsaw wielders, but this year also introduced Spirits and Demons of the East.

We entered at 7pm and by 1am, had finished all the mazes, except for one and even rhode on the newly reopened Jurassic World. We even stopped to grab a bite and enjoy a couple drinks!
The mazes we did complete were Ghostbusters, Creepshow, Killer Clowns from Outer Space, Us, Pandora's Box, Holidaze in Hell, House of 1,000 Corpses, and Stranger Things (twice)- in that order!
I absolutely LOVED Ghostbusters. It was so beautifully done! A real love-letter to Ghostbusters fans! One of these days, I'll have to make a blog about Ghostbusters and my personal connection to it thanks to Michael Gross. Us and Pandora's Box were other highlights, although I'm not sure about certain elements of the Us maze. I've since heard they've updated the elements that I wasn't sure about, but I guess I'll just have to go back and find out!
More reasons for us to go back? We completely missed an entire scarezone and we didn't get a chance to do Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman! I mean, I don't have any regrets, because I feel like we made the most with out time and really maximized the shorter lines, but I heard that maze is great! I'm looking forward to another visit for sure!
